“A zoo employee requested construction of some animal-related furniture and the job was assigned to Christian. My department would be working directly with the materials Christian was constructing. Christian built the furniture exactly to the specifications he was given, and they were beautiful, but would not function as we needed. The problem was due to the original design Christian had been given.
Because Christian had spent considerable time and effort already, I felt bad asking him to make major modifications, practically rebuilding all of the furniture, but Christian maintained his ever-present good nature and never flinched.
